Associate Professor in Psychology

Starting salary from £63,053 - £66,890 per annum with further progression opportunities to £77,550

The Department of Psychology has undergone a period of rapid expansion resulting in a vibrant research and learning culture. The department has three research themes covering Cognitive and Brain Sciences (with particular expertise in Reading, Face-Processing, Attention and Memory), Clinical, Counselling and Health Psychology, and Forensic Investigation and Cyber Psychology. Facilities supporting our research and teaching include eye-tracking (with mobile and static eye trackers), virtual reality, brain stimulation (tDCS, TMS), and electrophysiological recording (EEG). In addition, the Department enjoys strong research collaborations with local NHS Trusts.

As Associate Professor, the successful applicant will have a strong track record in research in the discipline of Psychology and postgraduate research supervision, and be expected to support and develop the research capacity and capability within the Department. You will be enthusiastic about student-centred pedagogy, and contribute to education delivery, including programme management as required, across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will also make a significant contribution to employability, and professional engagement with relevant internal and external organisations, at a regional, national and international level.

You will be qualified to Doctorate level or equivalent in a relevant field. You will have demonstrated global research leadership and you will be committed to a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
