Riverside Medical Group is seeking an exceptional physician leader to serve as Medical Director of Virginia's first and only dedicated Psychiatric Emergency Department (PED) at Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center.
This is an outstanding opportunity to lead one of the Commonwealth's most innovative behavioral health programs while helping shape the future of psychiatric emergency care throughout southeastern Virginia. The Medical Director will provide strategic clinical leadership while maintaining an active clinical practice in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Position Highlights
As Medical Director, you will:

The Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center is home to Virginia's first dedicated Psychiatric Emergency Department, offering specialized emergency psychiatric evaluation, stabilization, and treatment for adolescents and adults experiencing behavioral health crises.

Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, or Family Medicine (strongly preferred)
- Experience in emergency psychiatry, emergency medicine, or acute behavioral health
- Previous physician leadership experience preferred
- Virginia medical license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA certification

Hiring Range:
$307,000.00 – $398,000.00 Actual pay depends on specialty, experience, and performance
