Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

The following information is not meant to be all-inclusive. 
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary. 

School Psychology faculty at Alverno College collaborate in curriculum development, teaching, 
learning and assessment, and program evaluation within School Psychology and the curriculum at 
large. Primary duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Teach a range of courses in our Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology 
    focused on bilingual and multicultural school-based mental health practices.
  • Advise students participating in the Bilingual and Multicultural Training Program for school based 
    mental health professionals.
  • Serve and collaborate in departmental and cross-departmental committees including Alverno’s 
    Bilingual and Multicultural Training Program Advisory Council.
  •  Engage in scholarship activities related to teaching and school psychology.
  •  Active engagement in the field of school psychology including attending and presenting at 
    national conferences such as the National Association of School Psychologists Conference.
  •  Commitment to recruiting and training students of color and/or populations that are typically 
    underrepresented in the field of school psychology.


Requirements

Qualifications and Education

  •  PhD with a School Psychology specialization from a NASP-accredited program is preferred 
    but will consider applicants with an EdS. 
  • Demonstrated ability to practice and supervise school psychology graduate students. 
  • Licensed (or license eligible) as a School Psychologist. 
  • Experience as a School Psychologist is preferred. 
  • Professionally proficient in a language other than English is preferred.

multicultural competence in an educational and work environment and must be willing to contribute to 
the College’s strategic plan of inclusion.
