Responsibilities
    • Post-transaction and performance improvement services
    • Serve clients within the "Office of the CFO" of Healthcare or Life Sciences companies. Create a diagnostic framework to improve finance function effectiveness
    • Assess current state of the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and other finance functions and visualize desired state operating model
    • RCM (healthcare services focus): Identify areas of operational inefficiency and understand the root cause of each issue - lack of clarity in payor contracts, inefficient internal documentation process, errors in medical coding etc.
    • Work closely with management to identify possible solutions to each problem area and research viability of solutions
    • Project billing (life sciences focus): Understand the life cycle of revenue-generating projects and the finance/accounting aspect of each stage in the life cycle. Identify and document pain points in terms of execution, as well as in terms of documentation/billing/collections and revenue recognition.
    • Physician compensation modeling (healthcare services focus): Understand physician compensation models in relation to the company's revenue generation model and identify areas of misalignment between physician and company financial goals. Assist management in modeling out the physician compensation impact of operational changes, including changes in billing or rate negotiation practices.
    • Design solutions: Identify and network with internal CrossCountry and external subject matter experts who can address client needs. Work with SME-s to understand best practices relevant to the client's sector and design solutions.


    • Provide thought leadership and expertise in client finance and/or accounting functions to include:
    • Revenue cycle management (including documentation, billing and collections, analysis of collection patterns and bad debt estimates)
    • Healthcare services: Cash flow projections based on velocity of collections from various payors, payor mix, and known one-time delays/acceleration factors related to specific contracts or CPT codes. Identify issues with current billing practices and alert management to related compliance/regulatory risks. Engage with internal and external compliance experts to assess and address risks identified.
    • Life sciences: Cash flow projections based on project backlog, known in-progress projects, and anticipated milestones achievement timeline for each milestone; projected labor and professional services cost of achieving the milestones and expected DSO.
    • Healthcare services - Planning and budgeting with a focus on:
    • Known or proposed reimbursement rate increases for specific regions and services
    • Expected service mix shifts due to geographic expansion or other factors
    • Introduction of new services or healthcare plans
    • Hiring new physicians
    • Changes in physician compensation plans
    • Life sciences - Planning and budgeting with a focus on:
    • Known project pipeline and probability-weighted new wins
    • Estimated revenue and expense associated with each project milestone from known pipeline and estimates based on project types for possible new wins


    • Advise on accounting policy (purchase accounting including valuation issues, stock-based and other equity compensation, debt and equity transactions, impairment, ASC606 revenue recognition, lease transactions, etc.)
    • Identify emerging accounting issues or areas in client's business that require deeper investigation. Network and consult with CCC Accounting Advisory experts to assess the issue and provide recommendations.
    • Liaise with buy-side due diligence teams (M&A, outside counsel) as appropriate to ensure smooth transition to post-close period
    • Assist with various complex PE driven initiatives, including post-closing net working capital settlement, purchase accounting, accounting method changes (cash to accrual)


    • FP&A capabilities build-out
    • Provide guidance and leadership for financial reporting including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flow
    • Assist with leadership over client finance and/or accounting functions to include: Accounting and operational process improvements, consolidation and reporting, financial reporting preparation, board and management reporting, and system strategy/selection (if needed)
    • Lead projects focused on creating automated financial and operational reporting solutions to meet the needs of PE sponsors and lenders
    • Identify and implement best practices in terms of FP&A modeling/analysis specific to the healthcare and life sciences business.


    • Client account management
    • Manage C-level relationships at portfolio company as well as representatives from Private Equity sponsors
    • Identify emerging client needs and opportunities to bring in different CrossCountry service lines, including Business Transformation and Technology Solutions.
    • Proactively network across service lines to identify and bring in the experts needed to address client needs, scope and clarify the opportunity and deliver superior service.
    • Advocate on behalf of clients and represent clients' needs as appropriate to leadership. Work/liaise cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes


    • Business development
    • Understand key industry/technical developments and trends and articulate how clients will be affected
    • Actively participate in the firm's healthcare initiatives including preparing go to market materials, attending healthcare conferences and researching potential client leads.
    • Assist with expanding relationships within client organization with Business Development and Networking in mind
    • Assist with generating leads from a network outside of existing client work


    • Practice development
    • Responsible for project team(s) technical and functional development and performance management
    • Serve as a role model, supervisor, coach, and mentor to Managing Consultants, Senior Consultants and Consultants both on projects and within coaching families.
    • This includes being a champion for the firm in our community, within the market, with recruits, and with employees to attract and retain our people.
    • Participate in advancing the firm through committees and internal initiatives such as recruiting, business development, marketing, and knowledge sharing
    • Help educate the broader PE and AA team about healthcare and life sciences market trends and key deal issues.
    • Willingness to travel up to 40%


Ideal Skills and Qualifications
    • Professional experience
    • 7+ years of experience working in a client facing role at an advisory firm with healthcare/life sciences focus OR 7+ years of experience in a corporate FP&A or RCM role at a Healthcare/Life Sciences company. The candidate has managed a team, reported to internal leadership (CEO, CFO) and had exposure to M&A transactions OR 5+ years of experience in a corporate development function at a healthcare or Life sciences focused entity; The candidate has managed a team and reported to internal or external stakeholders;
    • Experience working with Private Equity, with an understanding of the unique requirements of the Private Equity consulting environment


    • Subject matter expertise and technical skills
    • In depth knowledge of accounting standards (US GAAP and/or IFRS) and the ability to advise/research complex technical accounting and transaction issues
    • Healthcare focus:
    • o Strong working knowledge of the third-party reimbursement model typical to most healthcare providers in the United States
    • o Good working knowledge of physician compensation models and ability to model the financial implications of changes in such models, changes in procedure or payor mix, etc.
    • o Familiarity with the legal and compliance matters central to the practice of medicine in the United States.
    • Life sciences focus: Good working knowledge of the revenue model of research-focused and life sciences companies.
    • o Strong FP&A modeling and scenario analysis skills with a focus on modeling the financial implications of clinical trial outcomes.
    • Knowledge of financial systems including ERP consolidation
    • Proven track record as an influential change agent, championing, organizing and successfully and efficiently executing new ideas and initiatives
