Description

Human Resource Advisor sought by Hillsong Events, LLC in Newport Beach, CA. Provide HR support & advice to US-based Hillsong staff & managers on such matters as training, dvlpmt, recruitment, employment law, compliance, performance mgmt & payroll admin. Serve as a point of communication w/ U.S. churches regarding Hillsong's centralized practices, training & dvlpmt, & policies & procedures in the functional areas of recruitment, dvlpmt, training, compliance, performance mgmt, payroll, & people & dvlpmt. For Recruitment: (i) Assist w/ recruitment of new personnel to incl interviewing & reference verification; (ii) Provide training & dvlpmt in recruitment practices to managers; (iii) Assist w/ onboarding & compliance & identify appropriate salaries & employment status for new personnel; (iv) Liaise w/ candidates for employment; (v) Create & present training programs to be utilized during new employee orientation; & (vi) Create & maintain remuneration networks. For Dvlpmt: (i) Identify opportunities for individual dvlpmt through such tools as StrengthsFinder 2.0-based coaching; (ii) Present communications-based dvlpmt programs such as Crucial Conversations Manager; (iii) Liaise w/ managers to identify coaching needs for teams & create targeted coaching & dvlpmt workshops; (iv) Use Learning & Dvlpmt ("L&D" ) plans, Critical Success Factor ("CSF") tools, & Learning Mgmt System ("LMS") to provide structured coaching to staff & managers; & (v) Populate & maintain LMS w/ records of strengths coaching & workshops. For Training: (i) Identify opportunities for skills-gap training in accordance w/ Hillsong Church's practices & culture, mgmt, & leadership training; & (ii) Support the implmtn of Hillsong's LMS by providing support for data entry & reconciliation, dvlpmt, & migration of training courses, tools, & resources. For Compliance: (i) Assist managers to determine employment status, salaries, & rates; (ii) Liaise w/ outside legal counsel on issues regarding state & federal employment laws, particularly as concerns CA law; (iii) Ensure I-9 compliance at all times; & (iv) Keep Hillsong's organization's U.S. Employee Handbook updated. For Performance Mgmt: (i) Assist managerial staff w/ addressing performance issues in line w/ Federal & State regulations through utilization of in depth understanding of employee psychology, employment contracts & performance mgmt; & (ii) Assist in conflict resolution consistent w/ faith-based values incl the reporting of the escalation of labor relations issues to U.S. & Australian parent organization mgmt. For payroll: (i) Administer & oversee payroll functions that are currently outsourced to Ministry Works; (ii) Submit bi-monthly payrolls, assist staff w/ leave requests & pay inquiries; (iii) Ensure compliance w/ employee overtime & allowances; & (iv) Conduct oversight of payroll vendor & interfaces such as timesheets. For People & Dvlpmt: (i) Collaborate w/ counterparts in the parent organization to ensure uniformity of practices & processes, systems, & policies; (ii) Communicate P&D practices as appropriate to Hillsong's U.S. churches; & (iii) Implmt Training & Dvlpmt initiatives such as LMS, coaching & workshops. Reqmts: Must have a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, Psychology, or a related field, or its foreign equiv +2 yrs of exp in increasingly responsible HR employment positions w/in a religious organization in the HR functional areas of recruitment, dvlpmt, training, compliance, performance mgmt, & payroll.
